Starting time: Naranjo: 8 AM & 1 PM, Chorro: 8 AM & 12:30 PM, Savegre 8 AM and 11 AM.
Tour lenght: Half days or Full day tour to Savegre River
What’s included? Snacks (fruit, juices, water, cookies); all the specialized gear needed for the activity (helmets, PFD’s, paddles); professional, bilingual & friendly guides. Transportation is optional. The Savegre full day tour includes lunch.
What do you need to take? Swimsuit and/ or shorts of a quick drying material; towel; sun screen and a complete change of clothes. Rubber soled shoes that stay on and can get wet. Strap on sandals, tennis shoes or similar. Flip flops are not an option.
Season: January to April the Chorro Section and April to December the Naranjo River. The Savegre River runs all year round.
The half day tour includes: a snack of fruits and cookies, the waterfall hike and is back to Quepos before 1pm.

Savegre River Rafting, Clase II-III
Consider one of the cleanest rivers in Central America; the Savegre is an authentic full day adventure: relaxation and pure action while enjoying the fantastic landscapes. This adventure starts with an early drive south of Quepos. It takes 1 ½ hours through african oil plantations, teak reforestation projects and incredible landscapes to the river put-in.
On the way there we stop at Santo Domingo mountain village to set our lunch order. Soon after, we will arrive to Rio Blanco, where we’ll give a safety briefing before we start maneuvering rapids like “Hurricane Rita”, “Boca Diablo” and “Washing Machine”. We stop for a short hike and nice swim at a waterfall on the river shore. A kilometer down river is lunch: a “casado” i.e. rice, beans, vegetables and your choice of fish, chicken or plain omelet, served next to the river on a very traditional way.
Before the end we hit “Santo Domingo” rapid and then the river tames down until we meet with our mini bus. We will load the gear and is a 50 minute drive back to Quepos before 3pm.
Naranjo River Rafting, Class III- IV
Only 30 minutes away into the mountains from the Manuel Antonio /Quepos area, the Naranjo River offers an exhilarating, exploding section of white water. This river is the natural southern border of Manuel Antonio National Park. The section we run goes from the town of Villanueva in the mountains to the Llamarón Bridge on the road from Quepos to Dominical.
On these 6 miles of whitewater we will run rapids like “La Piñata”, “El Cesar” & “Robin Hood”. On the second half of our run the river opens up on the Pacific flatlands giving us the opportunity to enjoy the view and se many species of birds like the Ringed King Fisher and the White Ibis. With a little bit of luck we might be able to see one of the crocodiles that live on the river.
El Chorro Sección River Rafting, Clase IV +
Exploding from the hills, just 40 minutes northeast from the Quepos Manuel Antonio area, breathes the start Costa Rica’s best commercial white water rafting run. Chorro section starts in the mountain village of Esquipulas. Our route carves deep into the river’s exposed bedrock, making this thrilling section of the Naranjo River an exception to the geological youth of Costa Rica. This 3km canyon delights the adventure seeker with fun drops and steep runs through 12 technical narrows.
Be ready! to bounce and squeeze through the gorge’s tight rock walls, maneuver and carve around massive boulders and bends, and sweep down drops through challenging unforgettable chutes. Within the 2 mile stretch we will tackle rapids such as, “Tail of the Dragon”, “ Chorro” and “Asteric & Obelisc”.
Between runs we have the opportunity to witness untouched tropical forest yielding various species of birds such as the Chestnut Mandible Toucan, Aracaris, and several kinds of Kingfishers.
